Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
Photos you scan: sent to our AI provider to generate a nutrition estimate. We do not store the photos themselves after analysis — only the resulting nutrition data is saved to your account.
Nutrition & usage data: daily and monthly calorie/macro totals, your diet goal and daily targets, and your remaining scan balance.
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We don't receive or store your card details.
Session cookie: used only to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How we use this information

To provide the Service: analyzing meals, tracking your nutrition history against your goals, managing your subscription, and sending account-related emails (email verification, password resets, and similar). We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.

3. Third-party services we use

OpenAI — analyzes food photos to generate nutrition estimates.
Open Food Facts — an open product database used to look up barcode scans.
Stripe — processes subscription payments.
Resend — sends account emails like verification and password reset links.
Upstash — hosts the database that stores your account and nutrition data.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies and only for the purpose of helping us provide the Service to you.

4. Data retention

Nutrition history is retained for about 13 months so you can see year-over-year trends, then automatically ages out. Account information is kept while your account is active.

5. Your choices

You can update your goals anytime from your account. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@nutrasnap.net and we'll process your request.

6. Children's privacy

NutraSnap is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices — including password hashing and encrypted connections — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
